Overview of summer term

How do I book my child in for the 2025 summer term (summer season)?

Details are on our Summer term - how to book page. We recommend that you also read summer term training details and and Teams, match times and formats. If you are a parent of a girl, please also check out Girls' teams.

When is the junior league cricket season?

The junior league cricket season generally starts just after the state school Easter holidays and generally ends just before the state school summer holidays, but some age-groups (especially GCSE and A-level years) have league matches that start and end later. During the cricket season we run training outdoors at SMCC and we run matches outdoors for all squads. The youngest players play internal games, and from Under 8s upwards, there are league and friendly matches against other clubs that run through to the end of the summer holidays.

During the school holidays, we also run holiday cricket camps during the daytime, and we normally finish the summer with an annual end of season celebration & awards evening .

Which leagues does the club play in?

Most of our junior teams play in the Surrey Junior Cricket Championship.

We also enter some squads into the North Kent Junior League.

Our senior teams also play in both Kent and Surrey leagues.

How many matches do teams play in a summer?

We typically provide at least one match per age-group per week from mid-April through to late August. Some weeks there will be more players available than there are spaces to fill in teams; player availability is very variable during these months, but we aim to ensure that all players play a good number of games over the whole season. In some squads, there will be more than one game per week at times.

Knock-out cup games

From U10 up, in most age-groups there are also knock-out cup games. These are typically held on weekday evenings. Knock-out games from U11 up are played in conventional format rather than pairs format.
