Holiday camps
Summer holidays 2024 (6 weeks)
Schedule
4 days per week (mostly Mon-Thu)
6 weeks from 22 July to 30 Aug
Location
Outdoors at SMCC.
Younger players at our 2018 camp learning the basics of bowling and wicket keeping in the morning, before playing games in the afternoon.
Who are the camps for?
Camp days are usually suitable for kids in school years 1-7, but please check details of each camp as some camps are soft-ball only, due to the indoor facilities available
Girls and boys
Kids of any ability level from beginner to advanced. Players will be split into appropriate groups each day
You don't have to be a current member of the club - our camps are open to everyone
Rain cancellation policy (outdoor camps)
If a day is going to be heavily affected by rain or other bad weather, or if the ground is too wet due to rain the previous day, 360 Cricket will inform parents by 6pm the day before that the next camp day is going to cancelled. Parents will then have the option of a full refund or moving their child(s) booking to another day (if there are still spaces on the requested day).
360 Cricket will keep the kids outside as much as possible, so if it looks wet, you might want to pack them a spare pair of socks, etc.
If kids are moved inside, it will only be for brief periods to shelter and 360 Cricket will ensure there is space and ventilation, in line with the latest Covid-Secure guidelines. There will also be gazebos in use to keep the kids outdoor but sheltered as much as possible.
Where are the camps held?
Outdoor camps are held at Streatham and Marlborough Cricket Club. See our location.
Indoor camps are held in a local school sports hall. Please check details of each camp as the venues can vary. If the weather is unusually warm and the school allows it, there may also be some activities outside.
Can I book individual days? Weeks?
You can book your child or children into whichever days you like. Camps often include a points system with players earning points for their team and a winning team at the end of the week, so it may be particularly enjoyable to attend multiple days in the same week.
Can I book multiple weeks?
For the summer camp, which runs over multiple weeks, you certainly can book more than one week if you wish, but we'd only recommend that if your kids are extremely keen on cricket, as the activities run each week are likely to be similar (though adjusted for the group of players attending).
How much do camps cost?
2023 prices (please check individual camp information for final prices) were:
1 day = £47
2 days = £88 (saving £6)
3 days = £130 (saving £11)
4 days = £165 (saving £23)
5 days = £199 (saving £36)
Discounts are applied at the checkout.
Sorry, neither SMCC Juniors nor 360 Cricket are registered to accept Childcare Vouchers.
There are no sibling discounts for the camps.
Our club "ability to pay is not a barrier to play" policy applies, but only for current SMCC members with whom we have already agreed a discounted rate. Please ask 360 Cricket by email, copying in the club (smcccolts@gmail.com).

How many kids will be in the camp per day? How many coaches will you have?
Outdoor camps will typically be limited to around 40-60 players per day. Indoor camps will typically be limited to a lower number such as 35, depending on the venue.
For Easter and Summer camps, the number of players is typically a split roughly 50/50 between younger (soft ball) players and older (hard ball) players and a range of abilities from beginners to advanced. The kids will be split up each day into suitable groups based on activities.
We plan for a minimum coach:player ratio of 1:7 and more typically this is 1:5. We will have a suitable ratio of senior and support coaches as per ClubMark guidelines. We will normally also always plan to have at least one 'spare' coach at all times to deal with any injuries, illnesses or other such incidents.
What do my kids need to bring?
A bottle of water (which they can refill)
A packed lunch & sufficient snacks (ideally healthy ones) to get them through an active day. Please avoid potentially messy food.
Clothing suitable for sport (for outdoor camps, consider warm layers, especially for Easter camp, and a change of clothing if the forecast is for cooler weather and showers)
Their own cricket kit
Sunblock and cap (sunblock will not be applied by coaches, so parents should apply this in advance and/or teach children how to apply it)
Any medications that your child needs (e.g. asthma inhaler, EpiPen, etc) - coaches are trained in emergency First Aid but will not give or apply any medication, so you must ensure your child knows how to do this themselves
It's a good idea to write your child's name on all items, to avoid them getting mixed up.
Other usage of the grounds
During the outdoor camps held at SMCC (Easter & summer), about once a week (usually Wednesdays) there may be an adult afternoon match on one pitch starting from around 1pm, and we may occasionally also have private hirings of one pitch for games typically also starting from around 1pm. On those days we will use only the other pitch at those times, but normally the camp will have full and exclusive use of both pitches and practice nets.
I have a question about camps...
All general enquiries about camps should be sent in the first instance to 360 Cricket.
You can email them at info@360cricket.co.uk.
While 360 Cricket handle the administration of camps and indoor training courses, summer term membership of the club is handled by the club directly. If you have any enquiries about summer term membership or should you have any feedback about 360 Cricket, please contact us.
